Point Wilson Station was established in 1879. The light is now automated and is under the jurisdiction of the US Coast Guard. The keeper’s house is a residence used by Coast Guard personnel based in Port Townsend. The Light sits next to the confluence of Admiralty Inlet and Puget Sound. On a clear day one can enjoy views of Whidbey Island and, further in the distance, Mount Baker. It can be reached by driving past the buildings of Fort Worden, and out to the point.
